I am fascinated by the brain and the body, and how a network of 100 billion neurons makes people who they are. My practice revolves around neurology, fight or flight systems, the nervous system, pains, fears, and how we cope. I explore the human body through a microscopic lens. My work shows the destruction of systems in the body caused by trauma. I want to bring visuals to these broken systems, to make the chill down your spine into something you can hold in your hand. Feelings take on a biology of their own, a living organism with malicious, animal, or ambivalent intentions. The organisms and systems are made into objects, animated sculpture, and photography. I want to show the feelings that can’t be seen to the eye. Recently I have plunged into the studies of viruses, molds, fungi, and other microorganisms and their nature and function. As opposed to internal effects that cause the body's inability to function properly, I am now looking at outside traumas that can leach into the body and take over. I create musical pieces that influence the imagery I compose, causing deep floods of melancholy in the stomachs of my viewers.
